Yes it’s more money than the Chinese Mr. Heater brand but you can get parts for the Modine hot dog heater. I needed a control board for my Chinese manufactured heater that was on backorder for two years and finally gave up waiting and bought a hot dog heater by Modine, Heat my 2 1/2 garage great that’s insulated including garages doors are insulated also. Very economical on LP gas.

Works well. Fan turns on before the burner is even running for some reason but works fine. Keeps my garage warm and dry. Found all of the venting items I needed on this website as well. Definitely not for the inexperienced installer.

Set up was easy got it dialed in no problem. Then it stopped working a few days later after testing it out for its short cycle condition. Electrically it was fine. Looking around in the cabinet I found the hose that connects the exhaust blower cowling to the exhaust sensor had fallen off and was laying up there on top of the blower. Hooked it back up and it’s back to running again.

I installed this in the fall and it has been wonderful all winter! It's high-quality and reliable, and kept my garage above freezing all winter, even at -10 outdoor temp. I have a detached garage and this year has been much more enjoyable to work in an environment where I don't need heavy coveralls to keep warm. It's efficient and cost less to operate than propane tanks for the space-heater I used before. It's terrific not worrying about open flames like I had with the glow-heaters in the garage. I'm extremely happy with it.

This unit heater fits my needs quite well. It is well built and works great. It is a bit heavy to install by one person but a strong back and careful planning can get it done safely. The instructions are easy to read and follow. I have it connected to a 500 gallon LP tank outside my wood shop. The initial start up went flawlessly. It worked exactly as the instructions stated.

High quality and fit was also good. I installed and hooked it up, and it worked well the first try. It is heating my one car garage well. The one small drawback is that it is kind of noisy. The fan for the exhaust is loud.
