I bought this to replace the Surestat thermostat that went out last summer. I am using it to control the fan in my greenhouse as my gas heater does not have a blower. I have the fan mounted high near the roof line and the thermostat mounted on the wall within easy reach. During severe weather that wall becomes damp, so I like the weather proof cover. It has been operating as advertised for the past two weeks. I purchased the last one in 2010 and it worked great for 13 years. Hoping I will get a similar return on my investment. Only giving it 4 stars because it has only been in operation for 2 weeks.
i tried several thermostats and this is by far the best
This is the second thermal switch I've ordered. I installed it along with a second heater (separate circuit so I don't blow a fuse!) in my greenhouse. I love that it's completely analog - no fumbling around with programming or worrying about overheating, power spikes, or pulling too much current over a prolonged period of time as with some digital ones. Works very well. I have thermometers monitoring the greenhouse heaters, so I can watch in real time or look at graphs of temperatures and temp spikes to see that the switches are working properly, accurately, and dependably. Highly recommend this unit.
We use two SureStat T118P Plug in Portable Heating Thermostats from ACF Greenhouses. One thermostat is for our root cellar's summer carrot harvest and is set to start heating at 34F. The second unit is for our fresh water intake from an 11,000 gallon cistern. The cistern feeds into an underwater PVC pipe which runs to the house. The PVC pipe comes out of the ground inside super-insulated rigid foam housing and the thermostat is set to start heating at 36F. We recently purchased two back-up units. The two existing units have been on the job since they were installed. Great dependable product, highly recommend. Thank you!
This thermostat works very well and is accurate.
So far so the SureStat thermostat has been working well to control a small heater in the greenhouse. Time will tell if it holds up over the long run
